JOB TITLE:

Assistant Boys Track Coach

LOCATION:

Grafton High School

EFFECTIVE DATE: Upon Board Approval

IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Building Principal

FUNDING SOURCE: Excess Levy

QUALIFICATIONS:

Appropriate West Virginia Department of Education Certification

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Professional and Interpersonal Relations-+ Cooperate with building Principal and Athletic Director and Head Coach.
+ Develop rapport with coaching staff within the school.
+ Develop positive relationships with participants, student body, faculty, parents and community, game officials, news media, opponents.
+ Employs appropriate conduct during practice and games.
+ Attend league, conference and WVSSAC meetings.
+ Participate in activities that foster professional growth and development.
+ Motivate staff and players toward desired goals.
+ Command respect by example in appearance, manners, behavior and language.




Coaching and Related Areas-+ Develop high caliber and quality instruction.
+ Teach fundamental skills.
+ Handles athletic injuries.
+ Cares for equipment.
+ Supervise participants and disciplines team appropriately.
+ Design quality organization of practice sessions.
+ Designs pre-season planning.
+ Supervise managers and other support personnel.
+ Manage budget.
+ Follow purchasing procedures.
+ Initiate game organizational skills.
+ Follow league: conference and WVSSAC policies.
+ Devote time and energy to coaching duties.
+ Follow end of season procedures.
