Knowledge and background in the assigned sport
Job Goal:
Carry out the aims and objectives of the sport program as outlined by the head coach. Instruct athletes in the fundamentals, strategies and physical training to realize a degree of individual and team success. Provide athletes with instruction that leads to the formulation of moral values, pride of accomplishment, acceptable social behavior, self-discipline and self-confidence.
Performance Duties:
Have a thorough knowledge of all athletic policies approved by the South Central Calhoun Board of Education and be responsible for their implementation.
Implement the existing school district, state and conference regulations consistently.
Understand the proper administrative line of command and refer all student and parent requests or grievances through proper channels. Be aware and attend all public, staff or departmental meetings that require attendance.
Maintain discipline and work to increase morale and cooperation within the school sports program.
Monitor equipment rooms and coaches office, and authorize who may enter
Supervise athletes so that they are only in authorized areas of the building at the appropriate times.
Examine locker rooms and buses before and after practices and games, checking on general cleanliness of the facility and vehicle
Be responsible for cleanliness and maintenance of specific sport equipment.
Secure all doors, lights, windows and locks before leaving the building, if custodians are not on duty.
