We are seeking a highly motivated and hardworking digital strategist with demonstrated interest and experience in financial communications and public relations.

As a boutique within one of the world\'s largest communications agencies, Edelman Smithfield provides communications counsel to financial services companies as well as support for transformative events, including M&A, IPOs, spinoffs, bankruptcies, crises, and shareholder activism.

We are looking to add an Assistant Account Executive, Digital to our growing team in New York, where we advise many of the largest and most recognizable US and global brands. The candidate will be part of our specialized team of digital communications practitioners, gaining broad exposure to Edelman senior leadership and supporting on all core digital work. The Assistant Account Executive will help lead and support digital and social media work including: content creation, organic and paid social media strategy and execution, analytics, and measurement, digital project management, and community management.

While there\'s no \xe2\x80\x9ctypical\xe2\x80\x9d day in this role, we are looking for a team member who can roll with the punches and be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. Additionally, this role requires someone who is invigorated by challenges, complex subject matter, and thinking creatively on behalf of companies.

The ideal candidate will have a natural curiosity and passion for all things digital and social with experience in content creation, analytics, and digital strategy to back it up. This individual must also be willing to grow as an account leader and take an active role in strategically driving digital account work and building client relationships. \

Responsibilities:

  • Write clear, persuasive, original copy for corporate and executive social media accounts
  • Support day-to-day account management and anticipate client needs and ensure quality control
  • Help set the strategy for and support drafting materials, including quarterly or annual communications plans, content strategies, content calendars, etc.
  • Work within integrated account teams, ensuring that digital elements and best practices are infused within the traditional PR program.
  • Contribute to social monitoring/listening programs and produce client-facing reports
  • Consistently produce high-quality internal and external communications content
  • Closely track digital communications and marketing trends to bring fresh thinking and best practices to clients
  • Coordinate with other disciplines (paid media, design, dev tech, etc.) as needed
  • Assist in building and marketing an emerging digital offering within the Financial Communications group
  • Contribute to the operational performance of accounts, ensuring quality work, deadline and budget adherence, and address client issues thoughtfully and effectively
  • Build relationships with third-party vendors and internal business partners to meet client needs
  • Manage up to senior staff consistently providing feedback that helps drive efficiency
  • Contribute to business growth through introducing clients to new capabilities, building network of industry contacts and participating in relevant professional organizations
  • Commit to continuous learning and improvement of leadership skills

Basic Qualifications:
  • At least 2-4 years of post-graduate, relevant professional experience in public relations, digital marketing, social media, advertising, consulting, media, publishing, or a related field.
  • A bachelor\'s degree or equivalent work experience
Preferred Qualifications:
  • The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of social media platforms best practices and the digital ecosystem; previous experience creating social media content and copywriting; conducting brand analysis, industry research, and competitive audits; a proven ability to manage projects within budget; a passion for creative thinking and experience partnering with creative teams and graphic designers.
  • They should be familiar with digital tools like BrandWatch and Google Analytics
  • They should be able to speak to previous responsibilities developing and executing plans to meet measurable client goals, as well as the ability to juggle different tasks. They should be comfortable managing across levels and teams and have an unrelenting commitment to excellence.
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in financial services, financial communications, asset management, crisis communications or banking is a plus.
  • Significant copywriting experience is a plus.

$46,000 - $51,000 a year

An employee\'s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, travel requirements, revenue-based metrics, any contractual agreements, and business or organizational needs. The range listed is just one component of DJEH\'s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, a Paid Time Off policy, and region-specific benefits. \
