The Town of Canaan has a Full Time opening at Town Hall for an Assessing Coordinator. Duties include providing assessing support to the Town Administrator and assessing company. This position also serves as administrative support to the Building Inspector, Planning Board, and billing support for the Water and Sewer department.
Candidates must have strong computer skills and knowledge of real estate assessment practices, maps, deeds and laws pertaining to property assessment. Working knowledge of state laws and regulations governing taxes and exemptions on property. Also needed is the ability to maintain accurate digital and paper files, and strong communication skills.
Compensation starts at $25.00/hr and up to $28.00/hr depending on experience and certifications. Benefits include participation in NH Retirement System, health, dental and life insurance, and vacation, sick, holiday and personal paid time off.
