Position Overview




We're seeking an Assembly & Test Technician to support electromechanical product assembly for brushless DC motor applications in Power and Actuation Systems. This role is responsible for assembling and testing production hardware and subassemblies in accordance with mechanical drawings, work instructions, routings, and specifications. Duties include soldering, winding, bonding, crimping, and hardware identification before final inspection, as well as maintaining accurate documentation of work performed.

Key Responsibilities



Assemble and test products in compliance with technical specifications and regulatory requirements, including mil-specs. Ensure assembled products perform their intended functions reliably. Read and interpret procedures, schematics, and technical drawings. Use measuring devices to confirm tooling/fixturing geometries and dimensions. Perform soldering, crimping, and assembly of critical electronic systems. Follow ESD (electrostatic discharge) policies during all operations. Set up and operate tools and equipment including hand tools, micrometers, calipers, microscopes, multimeters, ohmmeters, torque wrenches, dynamometers, and load cells. Assist with testing equipment maintenance and repair. Conduct functional testing, troubleshoot, rework, and document results accurately. Track and record parts usage and counts for each job. Identify causes for test failures, perform rework with limited supervision, and participate in corrective actions. Support Lean initiatives by suggesting process improvements. Package hardware per ESD procedures and maintain hand tools in proper condition. Safely handle and dispose of chemicals while using required PPE. Notify supervisors of equipment issues or routing discrepancies. Contribute to a clean, safe, and well-maintained work area. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications



High School Diploma or equivalent. Strong mechanical/technical aptitude and ability to perform functional tests. Ability to understand and work with blueprint drawings. Detail-oriented with the ability to follow procedures in a fast-paced environment. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency with computers and basic MS Office applications. Must be a U.S. Citizen.

Work Environment



Exposure to a manufacturing/machine shop environment including fluids, fumes, moving mechanical parts, noise, vibration, and chemicals. May require use of eye, hearing, and foot protection. Work may be affected by external temperatures and machining processes. Standard office equipment used in addition to shop equipment. Full-time role with potential overtime and weekend work. Some travel may be required (5-10%).

Physical Requirements



Regularly required to talk, hear, stand, walk, sit, stoop, bend, crouch, and move throughout the facility. Frequent use of hands for handling, reaching, and operating tools. Vision requirements include close, distance, peripheral, and depth perception with ability to adjust focus. Ability to lift, push, pull, and move items up to 45 pounds.

Schedule

4-Day Work Week:

Monday-Thursday, 6:00 AM - 4:30 PM

Pay Range:

$23.75 - $28.00 per hour + Shift Differential
