Middle River Aerostructure Systems is a world-leading manufacturer of thrust reversers (the braking system on a jet engine), engine nacelle components and specialized aerostructures. It supplies and supports these products for engine makers, airplane manufacturers and aircraft operators. Located on Maryland\'s Chesapeake Bay near Baltimore, MRAS has a 1.7-million sq. ft. facility situated on 180 acres \xe2\x80\x93 where the company and its predecessors have designed, built and equipped civil and military aircraft for over 90 years. In 2019, MRAS was acquired by ST Engineering North America, the U.S. affiliate of Singapore-based ST Engineering \xe2\x80\x93 becoming a part of its global network of aerospace facilities and offices. With the ownership change, the company was renamed Middle River Aerostructure Systems.

Role Summary/Purpose:

\xc2\xb7 The Quality Supervisor will have responsibility of all Quality inspection functions for all programs within the Assembly operations. The individual will be responsible for ensuring all engineering and regulatory requirements are met to meet customer satisfaction and safety. The Quality Supervisor will be a part of a cross-functional team inclusive of Production Control, Operations, Materials & Processing Engineering, Composite Bonding and Manufacturing Engineering to focus on achieving the production objectives.

Essential Responsibilities:

\xc2\xb7 Independently manages all Quality inspectors and assigns daily tasks to support assembly production needs.

\xc2\xb7 Provides supervision / oversight for a multi-program inspection support team. Proficient organizational skills are essential to maintain employee time keeping, attendance and overtime reporting.

\xc2\xb7 Works with Employee Relations and the Union Official on all shop floor and personnel issues.

\xc2\xb7 Maintains all inspector EHS and Safety training requirements and leads weekly safety meetings.

\xc2\xb7 Interprets drawings and specifications for all Assembly programs.

\xc2\xb7 Able to self-prioritize and manage multiple priorities simultaneously that align with production requirements.

\xc2\xb7 Accurately Documents defects and creates pictorial presentations for MRB items requiring customer disposition. Investigates Root Cause and addresses Corrective Action for MRB items prior to submittal to the Customer. Performs Quality nonconformance disposition review and manages lifecycle of tag through quality system.

\xc2\xb7 Actively leads and participates in lean projects that improve Quality, Output, Cost, etc.

\xc2\xb7 Able to interface with senior management on daily issues, strategic planning, etc.

\xc2\xb7 Makes sound business decisions and is unafraid to challenge the status quo. Requirements:

\xc2\xb7 Bachelor\'s Degree from an accredited university or college in appropriate science, engineering, or engineering technology field, or an Associate\'s/Bachelor\'s Degree in a non-technical field with a minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing or quality leadership role, or High School Diploma with 8-10 years\' experience in a Quality or Manufacturing Leadership role.

\xc2\xb7 Assembly and Composite experience are pluses.

\xc2\xb7 Demonstrated knowledge of Quality Management System tools, continuous improvement methodologies and in-depth understanding of site level products and related processes.

\xc2\xb7 Detail oriented and strong computer skills.

\xc2\xb7 Experience with ERP software applications and Microsoft Excel/PowerPoint/Word.

\xc2\xb7 Comprehensive understanding of ISO 9001/AS9100 Quality Management Systems.

\xc2\xb7 Experience with CATIA, or another 3D modeling software.

\xc2\xb7 Experience with lean manufacturing and/or 6 Sigma techniques.

\xc2\xb7 Preferred minimum of 3 years of experience in Production Quality.
