As an aspiring educator with Tulsa Public Schools, you will be tasked with creating a class environment favorable to learning and personal growth. The aspiring educator will establish effective rapport with all stakeholders (students, families and colleagues); motivate students to develop skills, attitudes and knowledge needed to provide a good academic foundation; and master the objectives of each lesson set forth by district curriculum.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
Associates degree or within 36 hours of a bachelor's degree
Experience:
Two (2) years of demonstrated full-time work in an instructional or supervisory role
Successful experience as a classroom teacher, but otherwise ineligible for emergency certification.
Specialized Knowledge, Licenses, etc.:
Must be 21 years of age
Meet all district employment requirements, including but not limited to references, background check review, and drug screening
Complete application and pay fee for adjunct teaching status once recommended by the district
Required to complete 20 hours of Tulsa Way Saturday and asynchronous Tulsa Way Academy training
Required to attend training in the science of reading
Required to attend professional development provided by the district
Aspiring Educators in a core content class must complete a degree or receive an Oklahoma teaching certificate within five (5) years unless additional time is granted by petition
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Office Suite
* Bilingual in Spanish is a plus
