Part-Time Art Teacher (Preschool) -- Opus Montessori School

Opus Montessori School is seeking a warm, creative, and dependable Art Teacher to join our vibrant early childhood community. This is a part-time position ideal for an artist-educator who is passionate about nurturing creativity in young children through hands-on exploration and process-based learning.

Position Details:

Schedule: 1 day per week (3 hours/day) Location: Opus Montessori School, 180 Hawthorne Rd., Barrington Hills, IL 60010 Start Date: ASAP

Responsibilities:

Design and lead engaging, age-appropriate art experiences for children ages 2-6 Foster a joyful, exploratory environment that emphasizes creativity over product Collaborate with classroom guides to align art activities with Montessori principles Prepare and maintain materials and a clean, inspiring art space Document student work and support occasional school events or exhibits

Ideal Candidate:

Experience working with preschool-aged children in a creative or educational setting Background in visual arts, art education, or early childhood education Familiarity with Montessori philosophy (or a willingness to learn) Patient, encouraging, and enthusiastic about child-led discovery Reliable and organized, with strong communication skills

Pay: $100.00 per week
