Slow River Studio is an innovative and fast growing art school specifically designed for adults. That means you will always have small classes of attentive, engaged, and enthusiastic students. Imagine that for a minute. Sounds fun, right? It is!

Our flexible curriculum, teaching methods and studio events are all designed to develop artistic confidence and creativity in a joyful atmosphere! You will have the opportunity to design and teach classes or workshops in your favorite mode of artistic expression. Our beautiful Topsfield studio is filled with lots of supplies, natural light and possibility. Come teach with us!

COMPENSATION:

$50 per teaching hour. Flexible class schedules, including evening, weekend and summer options. You can teach anything from a one-time workshop to a six-week class. We also have full time opportunities available for the right candidates. Other perks include ongoing teaching support and lots of new friends. We want you to be the best teacher you can be, so we offer paid professional development opportunities and instructor coaching. We also have the friendliest instructors anywhere and we organize opportunities for team collaboration and goofy fun.

QUALIFICATIONS:

We are looking for Enthusiastic, Reliable and Creative people who:

Enjoy making art and sustain a regular, evolving art practice through the inevitable highs and lows Have teaching experience (special education experience a plus) or have completed a teacher training program It's a big plus if you have experience with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), recovery support or life coaching.

Resume that includes both your artistic and teaching experience Submit a 1-3 minute video explaining the worst piece of art you've made over the past year. You can be on or off camera, but we need to hear your voice explaining the piece of work and why it's the worst. Don't worry about the video quality. Just send us what you make! Give us the months, days, and times you are available to teach.
