The District Gallery is a premier fine art gallery and custom framing studio with over 25 years of excellence in the industry. We specialize in fine art, fine craft, and high-end custom framing, known for our creative displays and refined aesthetic. Located in the heart of Knoxville, TN, we are seeking a passionate, detail-oriented, and creative individual to join our team as a Gallery Assistant / Design & Marketing Assistant.
This is a dynamic, hands-on role ideal for someone with a background or strong interest in visual art, design, or interiors. The successful candidate will work closely with the gallery owner, interfacing with artists, interior designers, private collectors, and the public. This is a multifaceted position that combines gallery operations, merchandising, customer service, and marketing.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with daily gallery operations and administration
Greet and assist gallery visitors; provide information on artists and exhibitions
Support sales, gift-wrapping, and client communication
Pack and ship artwork professionally and safely
Maintain exhibition spaces and visual merchandising
Help collaborate and execute gallery events and art openings
Create and contribute to digital and print marketing content
Maintain and update gallery website and social media (WordPress experience a plus)
Enter and manage inventory and data
Assist with special projects and installations as needed
Ideal Candidate Will Be:
Warm, personable, and professional
Visually creative with a strong eye for detail
Background in visual arts, design, or interiors preferred
Strong written and verbal communicator
Comfortable working independently and taking initiative
Highly organized and thorough in task execution
Energetic, adaptable, and solution-oriented
Experienced in retail or customer service (preferred)
Familiar with Photoshop; WordPress or email marketing tools are a plus
