Job Description

We are looking for a Mental Health Technician to join our team and provide quality care to our clients. The ideal candidate will have experience working with individuals with mental health issues, possess excellent communication skills, and be able to work collaboratively with other staff members. The Mental Health Technician will be responsible for providing direct care to clients, monitoring their progress, and providing support in the development of individualized treatment plans. Responsibilities:

• Provide direct patient care in a mental health setting.
• Monitor patient behavior and document observations.
• Assist with activities of daily living.
• Assist with medication administration and management.
• Provide support and guidance to patients and their families.
• Communicate effectively with other members of the treatment team.
• Ensure safety of patients, staff, and visitors.
• Maintain patient records in accordance with HIPAA regulations.

Mental Health Rehabilitation workers must have a high school diploma or equivalent and meet one of the following: (A) Practitioner is qualified through relevant coursework by completing at least 30 semester hours or 45 quarter hours in Behavioral Sciences or related fields and:

• Has at least 2,000 hours of supervised experience in the delivery of services to adults or children with:Mental illness, substance use disorder, Traumatic brain injury or developmental disabilities and completes 30 hours of additional training on mental illness, recovery and resiliency, mental health de-escalation techniques, co-occurring mental illness and substance abuse, and psychotropic medications and side effects; or
• Is fluent in the non-English language of the ethnic group to which at least 50 percent of the practitioner\'s clients belong, and completes 30 hours of additional training on mental illness, recovery and resiliency, mental health de-escalation techniques, co-occurring mental illness and substance abuse, and psychotropic medications and side effects; or
• Has completed a practicum or internship that required direct interaction with adults or children served, and was focused on behavioral sciences or related fields; or
• Is working in a MHCP-enrolled adult or children\xe2\x80\x99s day treatment program.

(B) Practitioner is qualified through work experience if the practitioner has either:

• At least 4,00 hours of experience in the delivery of services to adults or children with: Mental illness, substance use disorder, or Traumatic brain injury or developmental disabilities and completes 30 hours of additonal training on mental illness, recovery and resiliency, mental health de-escalation techniques, co-occurring mental illness and substance abuse, and psychotropic medications and side effects;
• At least 2,000 hours of work experience and receives treatment supervision at least once per week until meeting the requirement of 4,000 hours in the delivery of services to adults or children with: Mental illness, or substance use disorder; or Traumatic brain injury or developmental disabilities and completes 30 hours of additional training on mental illness, recovery and resiliency, mental health de-escalation techniques, co-occurring mental illness and substance abuse, and psychotropic medications and side effects;

(C) Practitioner is qualified if they hold a master\xe2\x80\x99s or other graduate degree in behavioral sciences or related fields. Additional Qualifications:

• Must possess valid driver\xe2\x80\x99s license
• Must possess valid auto insurance
• Must have a reliable vehicle
• Must be willing to travel around the metro area
• Must be adaptable to a variety of environments and settings in the community.
• Must have the ability to assess physical and emotional needs and be able to respond appropriately.

Job Type: Contract Pay: $24.50 - $27.50 per hour Benefits:
