About our Area Service Director position

Under the general supervision of the VP of Clinic Services, provides analytic support and operational leadership to health centers providing reproductive and sexual health care, including in-clinic and medication abortion services. The ASD serves as a resource to Health Center Managers and maintains a close working knowledge of community issues, health center, and program operations regarding visits, service, productivity, financial trends, quality assurance issues, and customer satisfaction. The ASD leads special projects determined by strategic and annual work plan goals in partnership with Clinical Services Leadership team. This role provides continuous coaching and professional development to direct and indirect reports in order to support equitable, high-quality provision of services.

What you will be doing!

Under direction of the VP of Clinic Operations provides overall direction, general supervision, and training to Health Center Managers Participates in the planning, successful implementation, administration and evaluation of organization projects and programs in health centers to maximize patient access, financial sustainability, and customer service. Collaborates with clinical services staff, serves as resource for Health Center Managers for all operational issues. Maintain close working knowledge of community issues, and center operations regarding visit volume, patient, clinical quality measures and financial trends. Support center management thereby ensuring quality care and services for clients. Hire, coach, supervise and evaluate health center management; develop them to facilitate effective management, sustained productivity, and financial solvency of the health center. Assume responsibility for the achievement of operating and fiscal goals at the health centers. Review process on health center productivity and financial metrics in conjunction with finance personnel, other ASDs, health center managers, clinician leads, clinician managers, and other staff to ensure that metrics are continuously measured, monitored and improved. Participates with the planning, implementation, administration and evaluation of the organization health services to maximize patient access, financial sustainability, and customer service. Takes initiative to generate revenue, improve services, and reduce costs. Identify health center needs and support problem solving within clinic operations and systems. Specifically, fosters greater partnership between health center managers and clinicians. Ensure on-going quality assurance systems and activities that comply with current medical practices, Planned Parenthood Federation of America standards, and CLIA lab practices. The ASD is also responsible for ensuring that implementation and compliance with medical standards and guidelines is done with a patient and staff centric perspective. Through these activities demonstrates an understanding of and commitment to PPGNHAIK's core values of integrity, excellence, justice, fierce compassion, and courageous innovation; practice these values in relations with internal and external customers. Achieve visit volume, employee / patient experience and quality assurance goals through direct supervision, coaching and leadership of health center staff.

a. Monitors budget for assigned region; assists in development of regional budget as part of the affiliate budget process. Achieve agency goals in terms of numbers of patients served and net financial contribution from clinic operations.

b. Serves as a consultant and resource to Health Center Managers for health center operational issues, staffing, recruiting and retention issues, and change implementation.

c. Cultivate in staff an understanding and support of agency goals, and desire to participate in achievement of these goals to ensure that health services are delivered in manner that is consistent with agency policies, priorities, and goals.

d. Increase program efficacy through increased patient experience and retention with a lens for improving health equity in your area.

e. Meet internal, PPFA, and governmental standards for quality, quality assurance, and risk management;



Through direct supervision, enable Health Center management to independently:

a. Manage financial resources, including administration of health center and program budgets.

b. Serves as the primary trainer of new Health Center Managers or delegates the training to a qualified Health Center Manager within the region.

c. Creates equitable opportunities for staff training, achievement, and development.

d. Participates in various administrative and clinical meetings assuring strong collaboration and communication within Clinical services and with other departments. Observes, describes and proposes new programs / services as well as program improvements.

e. Develop and manage annual operating plans and budgets. Can identify and meet patient needs within fiscal parameters.



Monitor and maintain statistical data and performance reports as needed for PPGNHAIK, PPFA and private and public funding sources. Provides overall direction and general supervision, empowerment, mentoring, assistance in planning, monitoring, and appraisal of job results to elicit maximum performance from Health Center Managers. Assures accurate and timely data submission is achieved in health centers for production of operational metrics. Assures Health Center Managers understand and incorporate metrics results in operational decision making. Assures Health Center's meet established deadlines for charge entry, entry of other required financial data, and medical encounter documentation entries into the practice management and electronic medical record systems. Promotes identification of needs and problem-solving within and between areas and departments. Identifies areas to integrate and improve program management, clinic operations, and systems. Allocates financial and staffing resources to maintain and enhance delivery of high-quality health services. Develops area strategic and operational plans in conjunction with Health Center Managers and other department representatives. Assists Health Center Managers in developing and implementing these plans within their sites. Communicates changes and/or consults with clinical services team when appropriate. Works with PPGNHAIK departments, QRM, HR to ensure that staff is trained and in compliance with affiliate and regulatory requirements.

Represents PPGNHAIK Health Center operations and services to local programs and to state agencies and other entities when needed. As assigned, works on specific projects and assures that relationships with collaborative partners and community representatives are developed and maintained to support services, referrals, and programs



EDUCATION:



BA/BS in or equivalent in education and experience.

Excellent organizational skills.

Strong decision-making and problem-solving capabilities.

Ability to communicate effectively and directly (written and oral)



Salary Range:



Exempt - annually $88,460 - $164,283
