Job Description

: Area Operations Manager Position Overview: As an Area Operations Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the operational activities of multiple locations within a designated area. You will play a critical role in ensuring operational excellence, maximizing efficiency, area growth, and maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction. Your primary focus will be on coordinating and optimizing operational processes and collaborating with various stakeholders to achieve business objectives. Key Responsibilities: Operational Management:

  • Develop and implement standardized operational processes, policies, and procedures across multiple locations.
  • Monitor and evaluate operational performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions as necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, health and safety guidelines, and company policies across all sites.
  • Conduct regular site visits and inspections to assess operational performance, address issues, and ensure adherence to quality standards.
  • Clean properties as needed and property site visits as needed
  • Engage new short-term rental (STR) hosts, STR property management companies, and housekeepers.
Team Leadership and Development:
  • Lead, mentor, and train new housekeepers, providing guidance, support, and performance feedback.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork, motivation, and professional development.
  • Conduct regular certification training for new housekeepers, and provide opportunities for skill enhancement.
  • Coordinate housekeeping requirements, including recruitment, training, and scheduling, to maintain adequate housekeeping levels across locations.
  • Coordinate host requirements, including recruitment, training, and scheduling, to maintain adequate host levels across locations.
Stakeholder Coordination:
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as marketing, and finance to align operational activities with business strategies and objectives.
  • Liaise with property hosts, property management companies, and vendors to ensure smooth operations and resolve any issues.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for customer escalations, addressing complaints, and ensuring prompt and satisfactory resolution.
Performance Analysis and Reporting:
  • Analyze operational data, generate reports, and present insights to senior management, highlighting key performance indicators, trends, and areas of improvement.
  • Identify operational bottlenecks, streamline processes, and implement efficiency measures to optimize resource utilization and cost-effectiveness.
  • Monitor budgetary constraints, track expenses, and provide recommendations for cost-saving initiatives.
Continuous Improvement:
  • Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies relevant to operations management.
  • Identify opportunities for process automation, system enhancements, or workflow improvements to drive operational efficiency.
  • Encourage a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and operational excellence within the team.
Qualifications and Requirements:
  • 10+ years of experience in Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field.
  • Proven knowledge of the short term rental industry
  • Proven experience in operations management, preferably in a multi-site or area management role.
  • Strong leadership abilities with the capacity to effectively manage and develop a team.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Solid understanding of operational processes, quality management, and compliance requirements.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in using productivity tools and software for data analysis and reporting.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Flexibility to travel frequently between locations within the designated area.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract Pay: $50,000.00 - $57,000.00 per year Schedule:
  • Holidays
  • Monday to Friday
  • Weekend availability
Ability to commute/relocate:
  • Anchorage, AK: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
