Job Description

EXTECH, Exterior Technologies, Inc., a premier designer, manufacturer of highly engineered facades, canopies, skylights, windscreens, translucent and kinetic wall systems located in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania, is currently recruiting for a Draftsperson position. RESPONSIBILITIES: Manage drafting phase of projects through issuance of the fabrication paperwork. Develop shop drawings, technical data, and material submittals for client approval. Coordinate with outside engineering consultants in the development of submittals and/or engineered calculations. Perform material research as required. After approved shop drawings, develop 2D CAD fabrication drawings. Develop Preliminary Material Orders (PMO) if required, and Final Material Orders (FMO). Respond to questions as they arise from the fabrication group. Assist estimating department as required. Maintain drawing filed and data. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: \xc2\xb7 Two-year degree or relevant experience minimum. \xc2\xb7 Ideally experience in glazing systems and/or custom fabrication work. \xc2\xb7 Excellent 2D CAD computer skills. \xc2\xb7 Ability to read and understand architectural contract drawings and specifications. \xc2\xb7 Basic understanding of field construction practices. \xc2\xb7 Experience with and working knowledge of Windows Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). \xc2\xb7 Good communication skills (verbal and written). DESIRABLE CHARACTERISTICS: \xc2\xb7 Technical aptitude with a desire to learn. \xc2\xb7 Familiarity with AutoCAD. \xc2\xb7 Familiarity with aluminum die development. \xc2\xb7 Familiarity with air/water/structural testing of glazing or wall systems. \xc2\xb7 Good organizational and time management skills. \xc2\xb7 Ability to multi-task and set priorities with consistent follow-through. \xc2\xb7 Keen attention to detail and quick learner. \xc2\xb7 Professional in demeanor and a true team player. \xc2\xb7 Highly motivated, high energy, positive outlook with a strong work ethic. \xc2\xb7 Enjoys hands on development of new ideas and products.
