Job Description

Seeking Architectural Drafter to join residential design firm. We work on mid-to-high-end homes for both remodel and new construction.

Responsibilities:

- Draft permit-ready construction documents for submission to city using AutoCAD. Engineering will be provided by others.

- Accurately draw plans to the half inch to accommodate interior finish specifications. The more detailed the plan can be, the higher the pay. Flex your muscles as a drafter and we can allocate more of the project budget to your work.

- Measure existing houses and create and as-built drawing, and then provide plans for remodel/addition.

- Take sketches and create floor plans based on layout and notes provided by principal and assistant design staff.

- Not necessary to feel like you've got a "design eye" so long as you can understand the design requirements of the plans we provide our clients and can accurately incorporate them to the plan.

This is a contract-basis position for now, with the hope to grow into full-time quickly. If you've got an LLC of your own already, that is preferable, but we can discuss. You're allowed to take other projects, so this can be a part-time position if you can get the work done.

AFD will provide you a computer and AutoCAD software.

Must have valid driver's license and reliable, presentable vehicle with own insurance.

Must dress professionally yet casual. We're in client homes regularly and a tidy appearance is important.

This will be a work from home position for the foreseeable future and we do not keep an office for day-to-day work. We will schedule a weekly in-person meeting in-office. This has been typically Monday mornings, but we can modify to accommodate. You'll be needed to meet on site to measure existing structures, and meet with clients in their homes to discuss plan concepts as needed.

This is a growth position. With the right employee, you'll have the opportunity to manage the drafting department of Anson Fillerup Design. We've got many projects in the pipeline and growth is expected.

Pay: $25,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
