About the Role

As an Architect at Z Modular, a division of Zekelman Industries, you will play a key role in shaping the future of design and construction through innovative modular projects. This position requires strong architectural design expertise, proficiency in technical documentation, and leadership skills to guide design teams. It offers the opportunity to directly impact the success of cutting-edge modular developments by ensuring compliance with building systems, codes, and construction methods.


You will collaborate closely with the Director of Architecture and Design, as well as manufacturing and site teams, ensuring that all building methods meet code, accessibility, and weatherproofing standards. This is an in-person role located in Troy, MI.


This role is perfect for someone who is detail-oriented, self-motivated, and thrives in a collaborative environment while managing multiple complex projects.

What You'll Do

Develops design and shop drawing documentation using REVIT, AutoCAD, and related BIM software. Leads and directs a team of architectural designers and drafters to produce detailed technical documentation. Develops construction details with a strong understanding of building systems, codes, and methods. Collaborates with manufacturing and site teams to ensure compliance with code, accessibility, and weatherproofing requirements. Fosters a collaborative team environment and contributes to continuous improvement in design practices. Works under the direction of the Director of Architecture and Design to deliver high-quality architectural solutions.

Who You Are

10+ years of relevant experience in an architectural role, CAD Technician, or Job Captain capacity. Proficiency in mid-range REVIT and knowledge of CAD/BIM best practices. Architectural licensure preferred, but not required. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities. Outstanding organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Commitment to staying updated on software advancements and industry best practices.

Compensation & Benefits
