high-energy Aquatics Director

that blends the best of aquatics, coaching, and program development. You'll shape the performance of our teams, strengthen our curriculum execution, and help ensure every swimmer receives a safe, consistent, progression-focused experience.

What You'll Do as Aquatics Director
This is not a "sit in the office" job--you'll be
on deck
, coaching, guiding, observing, and elevating instructors every shift. You'll teach lessons occasionally to stay connected to our curriculum, but your primary role is
staff development + program quality
.
Your Impact Includes:
1?. Training & Onboarding
Lead all new hire training (online, in-water, and deck-based)
Coach instructors through 20+ hours of structured development
Adapt training to every instructor's personality and learning style
Track progress using training logs and QA tools
2?. Growing Lead Instructors
Mentor Lead Instructors to deliver "the vision of good"
Deepen curriculum mastery and pacing
Support leadership development across all three locations
3?. Observations & Coaching
Conduct most monthly/quarterly instructor evaluations
Deliver supportive, actionable feedback
Jump in the water when needed to
demo skills like a pro
4?. Swimmer Progression Support
Use the S.A.F.E.R. Swimmer Dashboard to identify stalled swimmers
Build improvement plans with instructors
Support accurate tracking and timely level-ups
Assist with Touch Points, progress talks, and VIP follow-ups
5?. Product & Curriculum Rollouts
Stay ahead of curriculum changes
Lead rollout trainings across all locations
Support SwimJams & WAVE program integration
6?. Documentation & Quality Assurance
Maintain clear records for training, observations, and development cycles
Support consistency and long-term improvement across the program
7?. Customer Service & Culture Leadership
Model our kid-focused, safety-first culture
Support families with placement, progress, and questions
Lead with positivity, professionalism, and teamwork
8?. Hiring & Team Development
Assist in interviewing and selecting top-tier candidates
Support staffing, coverage, and labor efficiency

Job Requirements
Strong leadership & coaching instincts
Excellent customer service skills
Available afternoons/evenings + Saturdays
Able to work across three SF locations
Strong computer/technology comfort
American Red Cross LGI/LGIT
(or willingness to obtain)
Strongly Preferred:
Swim instruction or lifeguard experience
Aquatics management or deck leadership
Experience working with kids & families
Basic pool operations knowledge (or desire to learn)
