Lakeland Restoration is a dedicated aquatic environmental company based in Priest River, Idaho. We specialize in professional aquatic herbicide application and restoration services across stunning lakes and waterways, from the greater Seattle area (rarely) to Flathead Lake in Montana. The Opportunity
We are seeking a motivated and hardworking individual to join our team as a Part-Time Aquatic Field Technician. This role is ideal for someone looking for hands-on, physically active work, with the potential to grow into a full-time position through demonstrated initiative in acquiring new business.
You will be based in North Idaho but will be part of a team that travels to beautiful locations for short-term projects. While some of the work can be physically demanding, it offers an incredible chance to work outdoors and contribute directly to environmental conservation.
Primary Responsibilities (Field Work)
Aquatic Application:
Assisting with the deployment and retrieval of application hoses, and utilizing spray equipment to apply aquatic herbicides safely and effectively. Possibly operating boats if you are capable.
Logistics & Travel:
Participating in short-term travel (typically 1-3 days, occasionally longer) to various job sites across Washington, Idaho, and Montana.
Equipment Management:
Assisting with the setup, breakdown, cleaning, and basic maintenance of boats, trailers, and application gear.
Physical Labor:
Performing necessary physical labor, which includes pulling hoses, loading equipment, and working outdoors in various weather conditions.
Actively pursuing and acquiring new contracts and jobs through direct outreach, networking, and providing excellent customer service.
Administrative Support (Optional):
If qualified, assisting with company bookkeeping and basic administrative tasks to ensure smooth operations. This offers an alternative path to increased hours with office work.*
Qualifications & Compensation
Required
Work Ethic:
A positive attitude, reliability, and willingness to perform physically demanding work.
Availability:
Must be able to commit to a flexible part-time schedule, including necessary short-term travel.
Preferred (Will result in higher starting pay)
Boating/Trailering Skills:
Proven experience driving and safely backing a boat and trailer.
Basic Mechanical Skills:
Any mechanical know-how is a plus
Licensing:
Ability or willingness to obtain an
Aquatic Herbicide Applicator License
(company will assist with training).
Technical Skills:
Knowledge of
Geographic Information Systems (GIS)
or relevant education/experience in
Natural Sciences
or
Environmental Studies
.
Administrative Skills:
Experience with
bookkeeping
or office administration is a significant plus.
Pay & Schedule
Compensation:
Competitive hourly wage,
starting pay commensurate with relevant skills and experience
Part-Time, with the explicit opportunity to transition to a
Full-Time,
higher role for individuals who successfully and consistently acquire new business and/or contribute significantly to administrative tasks.
