Starting pay rate is $35.57/hr (non-negotiable)




Responsibilities:

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION




Under direct supervision, on shift, performs chemical, radiochemical, environmental, and associated tasks in accordance with approved procedures and surveillance requirements. Under general supervision, performs chemical, radiochemical, environmental and associated tasks which the apprentice has completed in the Apprenticeship Program. Maintains the cleanliness and housekeeping of workshops and equipment in current work areas. Completes training in the Apprenticeship Program at the pace and knowledge level prescribed in the Apprentice and Training standard.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS



Must have no restrictions preventing use of respiratory equipment of preventing the performance of chemical, radiochemical, and environmental work tasks. Must have no physical or age restrictions preventing radiation exposure within Federal limits for radiation workers. Must pass aptitude test. Must have two (2) years college level physical science education, including one year of mathematics, chemistry and physics, or equivalent. Must demonstrate dexterity for the Chemical, Radiochemical and Environmental trade. * Must be accepted by the Apprentice Committee as an Apprentice Chemical and Environmental Technician.
