An appraiser collects and analyzes parcel data leading to a value decision. Duties include locating and measuring parcel information, entering and preparing data, analyzing data, valuing, preparing findings, developing appraisals, and defending valuations. The Appraiser I is the introductory appraisal position in the Tax Assessor's Office and works under close supervision. This appraiser position will work in the Residential Property section and will report to an Appraiser Supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications
Appraiser I (
Grade B23(2))
High School Diploma, or G.E.D.
One year of related experience
Or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above
GA Dept of Revenue Appraiser I Certification as defined by the current rules and regulations of Georgia must be obtained within 12 months of employment*
Appraiser II (G
rade B24(2))
High School Diploma, or G.E.D.
Two years of appraiser experience
Or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above
Appraiser II Certification from GA Dept of Revenue as defined by the current rules and regulations of Georgia

Appraiser III
(Grade B25(2))
High School Diploma, or G.E.D.
Four years of appraiser experience
Or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above
Appraiser III Certification from GA Dept of Revenue as defined by the current rules and regulations of Georgia

Appraiser IV (G
rade C41(2))
Must be a graduate of an accredited college or university with a two-year degree
Five years of increasingly responsible experience in the appraisal field
Two (2) years of appraisal experience may be substituted for each year of college required
Appraiser IV Certification from GA Dept of Revenue as defined by the current rules and regulations of Georgia
