Position Summary & Responsibilities:
Position Summary:
The
KBI
is accepting applications to fill an Application Developer. As an Application Developer you would be responsible for developing, maintaining, and supporting a complex enterprise application environment that includes the integration of data from multiple sources through service endpoints and other interfaces in support of the KBI and the Kansas Criminal Justice Information System (KCJIS). The ideal candidate will have a strong background in application development using Microsoft .NET and a passion for creating high-quality applications. KBI IT is committed to recruiting and retaining quality individuals, and there is a dedicated training budget.
Job Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:
Gather, analyze, and document business and technical requirements
Participate and contribute in the design, implementation, testing, and deployment of applications and services
Participate and contribute in code reviews
Develop, debug, and document code that conforms to organizational standards
Contribute to the support and maintenance of existing applications
Configure application environments for the purposes of development, testing, or production use
Provide support to users by responding to support requests by ticket, email, in person, and over the telephone
Troubleshoot and resolve issues
Provide updates to Applications Development Manager and Support Manager and Project Managers on work in progress, estimated time of completion of tasks, and issues that may impact completion of tasks
Stay current with new technologies and development practices
Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisor
Qualifications:
Education
Bachelor's degree in computer science or related discipline that includes computer programming and systems analysis. Education may be substituted for work experience as determined relevant by the agency.
Minimum Qualifications
Relevant and demonstrated experience with .NET and C# development
Experience in ASP.NET
Understanding of object oriented programming principles and practices
Familiarity with the software development lifecycle
Familiarity with web development practices
Effective written and oral communication skills
Motivated to learn new technologies and development practices
Ability to troubleshoot and correct application issues
Ability to work within a team, as well as work independently
Preferred Qualifications
Strong experience in .NET
Strong experience in ASP.NET
Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio 2010-2022
Experience with .NET Framework up to version 4.7, and .NET up to version 10
Experience with front-end technologies (e.g., JavaScript, React, or Angular)
Experience with Microsoft SQL Server databases, including queries, views, and stored procedures
Experience with support, and working with users to troubleshoot and resolve issues
Experience with Team Foundation Version Control (TFVC) and Git
Experience with Azure DevOps Server
Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment
Desire to research new technologies, development practices, and enterprise architectural strategies and the confidence to make recommendations for technological direction of team
Familiarity withDomain-Driven Design (DDD), CQRS, and Clean Architecture principles
Experience with Unit Testing
