Job Description

Job Summary & Purpose:



This position will focus on the development and testing of novel protein and nucleic acid-based microarray surface chemistries and reagents.

The application scientist will plan, perform, report, trouble-shoot and present experimental results under the guidance of a Senior Scientist or R/D Manager.

Essential Functions:



Prepare reagents and materials used in the development and testing of products.

Use and maintain laboratory equipment

Careful and organized documentation of protocols and experimental results

Prepare reports (MS Office) and present data internally

Perform quality control testing on production material.

Collaborate and communicate with cross-functional teams to support product development and quality control deliverables

Work safely and follow all safety protocols.

Maintain a clean and organized laboratory

Management of chemical and supply inventory

Self motivated and willing to work independently and as part of a team.

All other duties as assigned by manager / supervisor

Minimum Qualifications:

Laboratory Experience

Bachelor's with 5+ years of experience in biology, chemistry, or related discipline OR

Master's with 2+ years of experience in biology, chemistry, or related discipline

Background in assay and technology development

Experience in cell culture preferred

Demonstrated expertise in conducting experiments, developing and following protocols, troubleshooting and resolving issues related to assays and instrumentation

Self-motivated worker, willing to provide feedback and contribute ideas.

Excellent quantitative analytical skills, including the ability to synthesize complex data sets and prepare summative reports

Proven ability to collaborate in a multi-disciplinary environment.

Experience in the development and testing of biomedical products

Demonstrated ability in taking ownership of validation testing responsibilities with minimal supervision and guidance

Data-driven decision making

Detail oriented

Pay: $65,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
