Job Description

Delaware Nation Industries is seeking an Application Developer to work with AFLCMC located at Tinker AFB, OK to provide remote support to the Air Force's Comprehensive Engine Maintenance System. The Mid-Level Application Developer will provide software development, integration, testing, and sustainment support for the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC), Propulsion Integration Division (AFLCMC/LPZ), in support of the Comprehensive Engine Maintenance System (CEMS) Program Management Office (PMO). The Application Developer will perform full lifecycle development and sustainment of CEMS software within a highly visible and mission-critical environment, ensuring high system availability and reliability for the U.S. Air Force propulsion community.

The ability to obtain security clearance is REQUIRED.

A Security+ Certification is REQUIRED.

This position is 100% remote.

Responsibilities:

Provide software development, maintenance, and sustainment support for the CEMS IT system, serving as a key resource to the AFLCMC/LPZC team. Update and maintain CEMS system code and associated documentation in accordance with established standards. Perform software integration, testing, and configuration management of CEMS configuration items. Develop software releases following the approved methodology outlined in the CEMS Software Development Plan (SDP). Develop software within the Amazon AWS C1 development environment to meet project and program requirements. Conduct and document peer reviews of CEMS system design documents, code, and test cases to ensure compliance with established requirements. Review and contribute to interface requirements agreements, test scripts, and other required engineering documents. Collaborate with system engineers, configuration management specialists, and quality assurance personnel to support full software lifecycle activities. Ensure software products meet functional, performance, security, and reliability requirements. Support system availability and reliability goals of greater than 99% for the CEMS platform. Participate in the development, testing, and deployment of CEMS software releases and updates. This role requires expertise in object-oriented programming and building RESTful APIs, while contributing to all phases of the development lifecycle in an agile environment.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or related technical field. 3-5 years of experience in Java Web application/software development. Experience supporting software maintenance and sustainment activities within a DoD or Air Force environment. Proficient in software development, integration, and testing best practices. Experience with configuration management and version control processes. Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC), particularly using Agile methodologies. Experience conducting peer reviews of code, design documentation, and test artifacts. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Experience using SpringBoot and Hibernate for web applications and RESTful APIs (design and development) Experience using Apache Tapestry and/or Thymeleaf for web templating. Experience with relational databases (e.g., Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server). Experience with using Git for source control (Bitbucket, Gitlab, GitHub).

Desired Qualifications:

Experience with Air Force Comprehensive Engine Maintenance System (CEMS). Experience with AWS cloud platforms, including services such as EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, ECS/EKS, CloudFormation, and CloudWatch for deploying and managing Java web applications. Experience with CI/CD pipelines and related tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab, Ansible, Terraform, etc). Familiarity with AFLCMC/LPZ processes and Air Force Propulsion systems. Knowledge of DoD software engineering and configuration management standards. Experience with Agile or iterative development methodologies. Experience using .Net (C# application web development). Experience using SpringBoot for Java web application development. Experience using static code analysis tools (e.g., Checkmarx, SonarQube, Fortify) to identify and remediate security vulnerabilities.
