Scion Staffing, Inc., a full-service national staffing firm, has been engaged to conduct an immediate search for a contract Nonprofit Staff Accountant with our client, an impactful faith-based organization with a mission to create lasting solutions to our biggest challenges within the community in Portland, Oregon.

SUMMARY
The Nonprofit Staff Accountant will be responsible for overseeing and processing AP vouchers and invoices in adherence to GAAP guidelines.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

• Review payment requests to ensure proper approvals and documentation.
• Respond to check needs quickly and accurately.
• Process expense reimbursements and credit card reports by ensuring invoices are coded and receipts are attached.
• Code certain recurring monthly invoices.
• Track and record voided and reversed checks.
• Provide check and/or voucher copies for audits and billings.
• Assist program staff with expense coding procedures.
• Timely processing of annual 1099\'s.
• Maintain current and archive accounts payable files.

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor\'s degree or equivalent lived and/or worked experience in accounting, finance or related field required.
• Minimum 3 years accounting experience or education; preferably within the nonprofit environment.
• Experience with Sage Intacct accounting software, preferred.
• Knowledge and understanding of 501(c)(3) non-profit organization accounting requirements preferred.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
The annual salary offered is between $55,00-$60,00 annually depending on experience in addition to full benefits.
