The Position

We are hiring a part-time

AP Calculus

Tutor

to deliver exceptional in-home tutoring in

Washington, DC, Maryland, or Northern Virginia

for the 2025-2026 school year. Sessions are scheduled after school (weekdays, 4-10 PM) and on weekends, providing flexible hours to fit your schedule.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver 90-120 minute private, in-home tutoring sessions for AP Calculus AB/BC. Create customized lesson plans to address individual student needs and learning goals. Maintain consistent, positive communication with parents and students to build trust and rapport. Collaborate with the Top Score team to track student progress and refine tutoring strategies. Provide academic guidance to support students' confidence and success in AP Physics exams.

Ideal Candidate

Proven experience teaching or tutoring

AP Calculus AB and BC

. If you have attended the College Board Summer Institute for AP Calculus, please apply! Current or former high school teachers or graduate students pursuing a Master's/Ph.D. in a STEM field are strongly preferred. Additional expertise in tutoring STEM subjects (e.g., Algebra I & II, Geometry, Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus, AP Calculus, AP Biology) is a plus. Bachelor's degree required; advanced degrees or certifications in education/STEM fields preferred. Passionate about building positive, supportive relationships with students and families. Highly organized, detail-oriented, with strong time management and process adherence. Excellent communicator, responsive, and committed to collaborative teamwork.

Logistical Requirements

Flexible availability for evenings (4-10 PM weekdays) and weekends. Minimum commitment of

8 teaching hours per week

(e.g., 1-2 weekday evenings and one weekend day). Reliable access to a car and willingness to travel up to 30 minutes for in-home sessions. Ability to pass a background check (required for working with students).
