Provide attentive animal husbandry by feeding, watering, cleaning enclosures, and monitoring health status.
Assist veterinary technicians and veterinarians with animal restraint during examinations and procedures to ensure safety for both animals and staff.
Administer medications accurately according to veterinary instructions, including oral, topical, injectable, and catheterization procedures.
Support laboratory testing processes by collecting samples and preparing specimens following aseptic techniques.
Handle a variety of animals including dogs, cats, and equines with confidence using proper animal handling techniques.
Maintain detailed records of animal treatments, medication administration, and behavioral observations in accordance with veterinary terminology standards.
Support front desk operations by scheduling appointments, managing patient records, and communicating effectively with pet owners.
Assist in emergency situations involving veterinary critical care by providing immediate support under supervision.
Ensure compliance with safety protocols related to animal restraint, handling sensitive species like equines or small mammals.
Contribute to a positive team environment by collaborating with colleagues on daily tasks and ongoing training opportunities.
Previous kennel experience or animal handling background preferred; experience in veterinary clinics or laboratories is highly valued.
Knowledge of animal physiology, anatomy, and veterinary terminology necessary for effective communication and care delivery.
Experience with pet care routines including feeding schedules, medication administration, and basic first aid.
Ability to handle dogs confidently using appropriate dog handling techniques; experience with equine care is a plus.
Skilled in animal restraint techniques suitable for various species to facilitate examinations or treatments safely.
Familiarity with aseptic techniques for laboratory work or invasive procedures such as catheterization.
Strong understanding of laboratory procedures related to veterinary diagnostics.
Veterinary assistant or technician experience preferred; prior work in a veterinary clinic environment is advantageous.
Excellent communication skills for interacting with pet owners, team members, and external partners effectively.
