Animal Care & Adoption Counselor - Lowell Humane Society

SUMMARY:

Animal Care & Adoption Counselors are responsible for providing compassionate and attentive care of the animals, maintaining a clean and healthy environment and working directly with people and pets who need assistance

Job Responsibilities:

? Facilitating adoptions by matching pets with prospective adopters
? Assist in determining if there are resources available to help avoid surrender to the shelter
? Daily thorough cleaning and disinfecting of the shelter
? Providing daily hands-on care of several species of animals by

Evaluating physical and behavioral health Implementing medical and behavioral plans by administering vaccinations, medications, treatment and training as needed Providing enrichment opportunities, walking dogs and spending time with small animals

Additional Requirements

? Must be a minimum of 18 years old
? Physical ability to walk and/or stand on your feet throughout a normal workday
? Ability to handle large breed dogs and fractious animals (training provided)

Hours

Full time 40 hours a week
The facility is open 365 days a year.
Daily hours and days of the week will vary according to the needs of the facility; including days, weekends, holidays and occasional evenings.

This position is primarily for Sunday-Thursday, 8am-5pm, though days may vary. It is a temporary position that may be available for permanent employment in Spring.

Pay:

$16/hr
