Job Description

Provides support to anesthesia providers under the direction of an anesthesiologist

Maintains anesthesia supplies and anesthesia equipment

Reports to:

Operating Room Manager

FLSA:

Non-exempt

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent - Required or three years relevant experience

Licenses:

N/A

Certifications:

Basic Life Support (BLS)

Minimum Work Experience

Previous health care experience, as Medical Assistant or Nursing Assistant preferred

Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Essential Functions

Stocks all anesthesia supplies in the operating rooms and anesthesia supply rooms, performs daily testing on anesthesia machines, develops basic understanding and ability to troubleshoot anesthesia machines, monitors, and supplies.

Maintains equipment as anesthesia machines, ventilators, cardiac monitors, end-tidal CO2 and pulse oximeters.
