Duties

Greet guests warmly upon arrival and manage seating arrangements efficiently using systems like OpenTable or similar reservation software. Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems such as Toast POS or Micros POS, ensuring proper entry and timely delivery. Upsell menu items and specials to enhance guest satisfaction and increase sales opportunities. Serve food and beverages promptly, maintaining high standards of presentation, food safety, sanitation, and cleanliness throughout service. Assist with food handling, preparation support, bussing tables, and maintaining a clean dining environment to meet sanitation standards. Provide exceptional guest relations by addressing questions about menu items, dietary restrictions, or special requests with professionalism and enthusiasm. Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations during busy hours while managing time effectively to serve multiple tables efficiently. Handle cash transactions accurately, including cashiering duties and basic math calculations for bills and tips. Support opening or closing duties as needed, including sanitation checks, restocking supplies, and setting up the dining area for service.

Qualifications

Previous experience in food service or restaurant environments, especially in fine dining or fast pace Deli setting Strong knowledge of POS systems like Aloha POS or Micros POS; experience with OpenTable is a plus. Excellent customer service skills with a friendly attitude and ability to build guest rapport quickly. Demonstrated ability in upselling menu items confidently to maximize sales opportunities. Culinary experience or background in food handling and preparation preferred but not required. Proven time management skills to juggle multiple tables efficiently during peak hours. Knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation practices, and proper food handling procedures. Ability to perform basic math accurately for cashiering tasks and cash handling responsibilities. Hospitality-oriented mindset with experience in serving guests at a high level of professionalism.
