The Finance and Records Department (FRD) urgently seeks an Accounting Clerk in Pago Pago, American Samoa. This is permanent full-time position working 40 hours per week. The successful candidate will work on-site and reports to the Finance Manager based in Samoa.
As an Accounting Clerk, you will gain valuable experience in finance and accounting functions. You will work in a supportive and collaborative team environment where your contributions are valued and recognized. Your efforts will be crucial in helping the team deliver optimal value and efficiency in finance operations, directly contributing to the success of the Finance and Records Department.
Completing and processing journal entries
Accounts payable
Processing and recording wire transfers.
Liaising with banks and vendors
Petty cash issuance and reconciliation
Supporting and managing queries from internal and external customers
Preparing receipts and banking deposits.
General reconciliation work and administrative tasks
Minimum of two years of experience in accounting clerical or banking operations work or the equivalent combination of post high school education and experience
Demonstrated ability to operate a personal computer operating in a network environment with a demonstrated proficiency in using word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
Working knowledge and understanding of fundamental accounting and bookkeeping principles, methods, and office procedures.
Ability to work with minimal supervision
Demonstrated proficiency with detail work.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
