Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Ambulance Driver to join our emergency response team. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely transporting patients to medical facilities while adhering to all safety and traffic regulations. This role requires a calm demeanour, excellent driving skills, and the ability to respond swiftly in urgent situations. The Ambulance Driver plays a vital part in ensuring prompt and secure patient transfer, contributing significantly to emergency healthcare services.

Duties

Safely operate ambulance vehicles to transport patients to hospitals or medical centres. Ensure the ambulance is fully equipped, clean, and maintained for each shift. Assist paramedics with patient loading and unloading, ensuring patient comfort and safety during transit. Follow all traffic laws and safety protocols during transportation. Maintain accurate records of trips, vehicle condition, and any incidents that occur during shifts. Conduct routine checks on vehicle mechanical systems and report any issues promptly. Communicate effectively with dispatchers, medical personnel, and other emergency services. Adhere strictly to health and safety guidelines, including infection control procedures.

Skills

Proven experience in commercial driving or as a delivery driver is highly desirable. Valid driving licence with a clean record; specific driver qualification preferred. Experience with warehouse operations or logistics is advantageous. Mechanical knowledge for basic vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting. Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with team members and emergency personnel. Ability to operate flatbed vehicles or specialised emergency transport equipment as required. Familiarity with driving large vehicles such as lorries or specialised emergency response vehicles is beneficial. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage time efficiently under pressure.
