We are seeking a talented and experienced Alaska Food Chef to lead our culinary team in delivering exceptional dining experiences. This role involves overseeing food preparation, managing kitchen operations, and ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality. Duties
Lead and supervise the kitchen staff to ensure efficient food production and service delivery
Oversee menu planning, ensuring a variety of appealing and innovative dishes that meet dietary needs and customer preferences
Manage inventory control, including ordering, stock rotation, and waste reduction to optimize food costs
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain high standards of cleanliness and sanitation
Coordinate catering events, banquets, and special functions with attention to detail and timely execution
Oversee food handling procedures, ensuring proper storage, preparation, and presentation of all dishes
Supervise shift management, including scheduling staff and monitoring performance
Collaborate with restaurant management to develop new menu items and improve existing offerings
Provide leadership in kitchen management, fostering a positive team environment focused on quality and efficiency
Maintain excellent communication with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service
Experience
Proven banquet experience with a strong background in catering or large-scale event food service
Supervising experience in a culinary or hospitality setting, demonstrating leadership capabilities
Dietary department experience preferred, with knowledge of special dietary requirements and restrictions
Extensive food production experience across various cuisines, including fine dining environments
Strong background in inventory management, food preparation, and kitchen operations
Experience in food service management, including menu planning, shift management, and restaurant operations
Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in the food industry
Previous restaurant or hospitality experience is highly desirable
Skills in culinary arts, cooking techniques, and kitchen management are essential
