Job Description

CyberStorm Defense(TM) is seeking an experienced Airspace Design Analyst to support the FAA's NextGen Airspace Modernization efforts under the Department of Transportation (DOT).
This position will work within the Air Traffic Systems Directorate (AJM-2) and Enterprise Services (AJM-3) organizations, providing advanced analytical and modeling support for airspace design, configuration management, and procedural optimization across the National Airspace System (NAS).

The ideal candidate will combine technical, operational, and analytical expertise to help FAA optimize airspace utilization, safety, and capacity in alignment with NextGen Trajectory-Based Operations (TBO) objectives.

Key Responsibilities:



Perform airspace modeling, simulation, and procedural redesign analyses to support NAS modernization initiatives. Conduct airspace utilization studies, route structure optimization, and performance evaluations using FAA-approved tools (e.g., FACET, SIMMOD, TAAM). Analyze and develop instrument flight procedures (IFPs) and coordinate design/redesign recommendations with FAA ATO and regional facilities. Evaluate proposed airspace changes for safety, capacity, and environmental impacts in accordance with FAA Order 8260 and TERPS criteria. Develop and maintain airspace configuration databases, documentation, and change control artifacts. Support integration of NextGen concepts including PBN, RNAV, RNP, and TBO initiatives. Participate in engineering and operational reviews, providing technical input and performance analysis to FAA decision-makers. Ensure all work adheres to the FAA Acquisition Management System (AMS), Safety Management System (SMS), and Environmental Policy Order 1050.1F requirements.

Mandatory Qualifications:



8 + years of experience in airspace analysis, flight procedure design, or NAS operations within FAA, DOT, DoD, or aerospace organizations. Demonstrated experience with FAA TERPS criteria and FAA Order 8260 standards. Hands-on experience using airspace modeling and simulation tools (SIMMOD, FACET, TAAM, NATS, or BlueSky). Strong analytical and communication skills for technical presentations to FAA PMO and ATO leadership. Bachelor's or Master's in Aerospace Engineering, Aviation Management, Systems Engineering, or a related discipline.

Preferred Qualifications:



Prior support to FAA AJM-2 / AJM-3, ATO Systems Operations Services, or NextGen Offices. Experience with Performance-Based Navigation (PBN) or Trajectory-Based Operations (TBO) design. Familiarity with Environmental Impact Assessment and Noise Modeling tools. Certifications: FAA Instrument Procedure Designer (IPD), INCOSE CSEP, or PMP. Active Public Trust, Secret, or higher clearance preferred.
