Performs as a skilled Electrician at VMGR-252 aboard MCAS Cherry Point with a diverse and knowledgeable background maintaining KC-130J aircraft system components for the Customer; perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, troubleshooting repair and servicing or related structures of the KC-130J aircraft. Troubleshoot and repair electrical system discrepancies on KC-130J aircraft, to include but not limited to anti-ice, engines, fire detection, flight controls, fuel quantity, inflight refueling, internal/external lighting, landing gear, and propellers in accordance with naval aviation manuals. Perform all required inspections on KC-130J associated aircraft and electrical systems as required by naval aviation manuals. Inspects, maintains, repairs and services aircraft electrical components, and applies technical knowledge of aircraft electrical systems in determining equipment malfunctions and applies technical expertise in restoring equipment condition and operation. Document all maintenance performed utilizing the Optimized Organization Maintenance Activity (OOMA) system. Screen component records for proper implementation of technical directives as required. Provide in depth training to the mechanics within the squadron on all associated electrical systems. Obtain and maintain all required support equipment licenses to perform assigned maintenance task assigned. Perform wire repairs and solder repairs to components as required following established EWIS procedures. Assist other work centers in troubleshooting and repair of electrical discrepancies identified within their assigned systems and components. Perform inspections and duties as a Collateral Duty Inspector (CDI) as required. Job Requirements
KC-130J Electric Shop Mechanic Training (MOS 6336) and associated "C" school training, or equivalent civilian qualifications or certificates (A&P license). Shall have the ability perform complex O-level maintenance actions. Must possess a level of experience necessary to inspect and sign off work in all assigned aircraft systems. Must possess and maintain a Secret Clearance Familiarity with the Naval Aviation Maintenance Program (NAMP) or equivalent. Be a U.S. citizen. If a Veteran, must have earned an honorable discharge (preferred) but no less than a General discharge under Honorable conditions. Possess a good knowledge of squadron organization and functions and be able to communicate and interact effectively with others. Must be able to prioritize workload to maintain schedules on assigned projects. Possess a valid state driver's license, obtain, and maintain base access. Work Environment (ADA): May be required to work in areas in the hangar and on the flightline that are noisy and dusty. May be exposed to moderate discomforts, such as heat, cold and wind. May be required to wear personal protective equipment, when applicable. * Perform other duties as assigned
