The Accessory Shop Supervisor reports to the Production Manager and is responsible for supervising all Accessory department functions and operations. This role involves planning, directing, coordinating, and overseeing the department's daily objectives while collaborating with all other departments within the Repair Station to minimize delays and maximize production and efficiency.
The Accessory Shop Supervisor ensures that during the repair process, all necessary work records and company forms are properly executed, and all articles and parts are handled correctly. They are also responsible for ensuring that personnel performing tasks under their supervision are adequately trained in the procedures, methods, and practices required for each duty.
Duties and Responsibilities
Train, develop, and supervise technicians in proper work procedures and practices.
Plan, track, and manage all units within the department to ensure timely movement through each process, verify that all required processes are completed, and confirm that necessary materials are ordered to meet delivery deadlines.
Assist technicians with disassembly, cleaning, inspection, repair, modification, assembly, and functional testing of components.
Troubleshoot component issues and ensure corrective actions are carried out to meet OEM and customer specifications.
Work with precision measurement instruments and other special tooling.
Ensure all work performed is in accordance with OEM instructions, company policies, and FAA guidelines.
Ensure proper handling and preservation of all units and parts during removal, storage, installation, and repair.
Analyze and review department processes and workflow to identify improvements that optimize turnaround time.
Develop capabilities for new components (identify tooling/equipment requirements, train technicians, etc.).
Collaborate with managers and supervisors of other departments to resolve issues affecting production.
Ensure shop equipment and tools are maintained in good working order.
Relay daily duties and information to department leads and technicians.
Set expectations and goals for the department and ensure they are met.
Review and analyze reports, records, and directives to evaluate department performance against goals.
Responsible for training Accessory Shop Technicians and establishing their levels within the company's rating system.
Cultivate a culture of quality, safety, and excellence within the team.
Provide input on manpower, review employee performance, address escalated issues, assign work, schedule, and manage workload in assigned departments.
Provide leadership and daily guidance for technicians.
Provide progress updates and relay maintenance information to management.
Notify the Production Manager and other appropriate managers of any condition that could compromise airworthiness.
Manage and approve overtime, ensuring it remains within acceptable levels.
Review and meet production KPI targets with the Production Manager.
Ensure all direct reports follow safety rules and company policies.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge & Skills
Knowledge of FAA Part 145 repair station regulations. Military hangar maintenance or in-depth landing gear experience will be considered.
Knowledge of safe working techniques and procedures.
Ability to plan and schedule work requirements and direct skilled technicians in daily duties.
Strong communication, organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills.
Effective leadership with proven supervisory ability.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, Quantum Control, and Excel.
Experience & Education
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred.
Extensive background in landing gear maintenance with a
minimum of 5 years of experience
required.
Physical Requirements / Working Environment
Ability to lift objects up to 50 lbs. and occasionally heavier.
Ability to stand for extended periods, climb ladders, and wear a respirator.
Travel
May require travel to support maintenance recovery or deployed operations as needed.

Pay: $72,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
