We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Aircraft Engine Builder to join our team in the assembly, testing, and maintenance of high-performance aircraft engines. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude, precision craftsmanship, and a commitment to safety and quality standards in an aviation FAA part 145 repair station setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assemble aircraft engines and components according to blueprints, technical drawings, and manufacturer specifications.
- Perform precision fitting, alignment, and calibration of engine parts, including turbines, compressors, and fuel systems.
- Conduct inspections and quality checks to ensure compliance with FAA regulations and company standards.
- Test assembled engines using diagnostic tools and equipment to verify performance and functionality.
- Troubleshoot and repair engine components, identifying and resolving mechanical issues.
- Maintain accurate documentation of assembly processes, inspections, and test results.
- Collaborate with engineering and quality assurance teams to improve assembly processes and ensure reliability.
- Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
- Stay updated on industry advancements, tools, and techniques for engine assembly.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree or technical certification in aviation maintenance, mechanical engineering, or related field preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in aircraft engine assembly, maintenance, or a related mechanical field.
- Familiarity with FAA regulations and aviation safety standards.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
- Strong mechanical skills and experience with precision tools (e.g., micrometers, torque wrenches, calipers).
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet production deadlines.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in confined spaces or at heights.
- A&P (Airframe and Powerplant) license is a plus but not required.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with specific engine types (Lycoming and Continental)
- Familiarity with computer-based diagnostic and testing software.
