General Purpose and Scope of Position:

Performs preventive maintenance and repairs of plant equipment and machinery to ensure that the equipment is in clean and safe working order. Also assists with general duties of plant operations and safety. Must be a team player and enjoy working with a diverse customer base in a fast-paced setting. This is a full-time, non-exempt position.

Key Skills and Abilities Include:

  • High School Diploma or equivalency degree
  • Two or more years of work experience in the operation, repair and maintenance of equipment
  • Must be willing to work overtime, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to read, write and speak the English language fluently
  • Ability to operate heavy equipment, such as front-end loader, forklift, and railcar mover
  • Ability to repetitively lift (up to 50 pounds) and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds
  • Ability to work in an environment that has a moderately loud noise level
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and in outside weather conditions.

  • Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose and repair equipment with accuracy and speed
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships with team members
  • Ability to work and contribute to a team with a positive attitude and outlook
Specific Responsibilities and Key Deliverables Include:
  • Perform regularly-scheduled preventative maintenance, including, inspecting, lubing, greasing, and cleaning all plant equipment
  • Complete repairs and adjustments to plant equipment as needed
  • Inspect and perform regular maintenance on all machinery
  • Complete required safety inspections of facility, equipment, and tank farm
  • Maintains inventory records on repairs made, parts ordered, and parts inventory
  • Perform welding jobs on machinery or plant equipment, as needed
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure a safe working environment
  • Keep yard organized and clean
  • Perform routine and seasonal cleaning of the plant
  • Assist with the loading and unloading of bulk dry and liquid fertilizer shipped via railcar and truck as well as the loading of toted dry fertilizer
  • Support control room staff as needed with the operation of the Kahler blending system and JD Edwards inventory system
  • Follow all safety rules and regulations while performing work assignments and adhere to all policies and procedures as specified in all company, regulatory, and equipment-related safety requirements
  • Perform all other duties as assigned
Compensation and Benefits:

In compliance with all states and cities that require transparency of pay, the base compensation for this position ranges from $17.88 - $22.63 per hour. Note that wages may vary based on location, skills, and experience. This position is eligible for vacation, holidays, health, dental, vision, mental health, retirement plans, and other benefits.
