Position Overview
We are seeking a driven and relationship-oriented Marketing & Business Development Manager to grow our customer base and build partnerships for our expanding feed operation. This is not a cold-calling sales position -- it's a strategic, community-focused role for someone passionate about agriculture and capable of translating product knowledge into value for farmers and distributors. The ideal candidate understands livestock nutrition, farm operations, or agribusiness sales and can build trusted relationships that lead to long-term partnerships and growth.
Primary Responsibilities
Develop and implement a strategic outreach plan to expand the market for Chestnut Grove Farm's feed products among local farms, retail outlets, co-ops, and commercial operations.
Build and maintain strong relationships with producers, farm owners, and agricultural businesses to understand their needs and match them with the right feed solutions.
Represent the company at regional farm shows, association meetings, and industry events to promote brand awareness and generate leads.
Collaborate with the production and nutrition teams to translate technical product information into clear, customer-focused messaging.
Lead pricing strategy discussions, coordinate with leadership on customer contracts, and support logistics to ensure timely delivery and satisfaction.
Track customer engagement, sales performance, and market trends; prepare regular reports and growth plans for leadership.
Identify partnership opportunities, co-marketing initiatives, and value-added services that enhance our competitive position.
Qualifications
3+ years of experience in agribusiness, feed, livestock production, or farm supply marketing / sales.
Strong understanding of livestock nutrition, animal husbandry, or feed manufacturing preferred.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with proven ability to build relationships in the agricultural community.
Self-motivated and results-driven, with the ability to work independently and manage a flexible schedule.
Experience with CRM systems, customer tracking tools, and data-driven reporting.
Willingness to travel locally/regionally to meet customers, attend events, and represent the company.
Compensation & Benefits
Competitive base salary $70,000-$85,000+ depending on experience, plus performance-based bonuses.
