Summary



Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly experienced and versatile Construction Manager to oversee a diverse portfolio of construction projects from conception to completion. This role requires a proven leader capable of managing projects across various sectors, including residential housing, commercial convenience stores, agricultural facilities (e.g., barns, storage, processing units), and other general construction endeavors. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in all phases of construction, with a strong emphasis on concrete, plumbing, water lines, and related infrastructure, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within financial guidelines, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:



Project Planning & Pre-Construction:

Collaborate with leaders, managers, engineers, and subcontractors to define project scope, goals, and deliverables. Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, budgets, resource allocation, and risk management strategies. Obtain necessary permits, licenses, and approvals from relevant authorities. Review blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to ensure constructability and compliance. Ensure all prints/drawings are completed, filed, and organized for future review.

Site Management & Supervision:

Oversee all on-site construction activities, ensuring adherence to project plans, safety regulations, and quality standards. Direct and manage project teams, including superintendents, foremen, and skilled trades. Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, identify potential issues, and implement corrective actions. Manage site logistics, material delivery, and equipment utilization. Ensure strict compliance with all local, state, and federal safety regulations (OSHA, etc.).

Financials & Cost Control:

Monitor project expenditures against financial scope, identifying and addressing variances. Manage change orders, ensuring proper documentation and approval. Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to secure favorable terms and pricing. Approve invoices and track payments.

Quality Assurance & Control:

Implement and enforce quality control procedures to ensure all work meets design specifications and industry standards. Oversee testing and inspection of materials and workmanship, particularly for concrete pours, plumbing systems, and water line installations. Address and resolve any quality deficiencies promptly.

Subcontractor & Vendor Management:

Solicit bids, evaluate proposals, and select qualified subcontractors and vendors. Manage subcontractor performance, ensuring adherence to contracts, schedules, and quality. Foster strong working relationships with all project stakeholders.

Communication & Reporting:

Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, keeping them informed of project status, progress, and any potential issues. Prepare and present regular project reports to senior management. Conduct regular project meetings with internal teams and external stakeholders. Conduct training with team members

Problem Solving & Risk Management:

Proactively identify potential risks (e.g., weather delays, material shortages, labor issues) and develop mitigation strategies. Resolve conflicts and challenges that arise during the construction process efficiently and effectively. Employee engagement, resolution of team member concerns and issues.

Specialized Expertise:

Demonstrated experience and knowledge in concrete work (foundations, slabs, specialized agricultural concrete), plumbing systems (commercial, residential, agricultural water/waste), and water line installation (potable, irrigation, livestock watering systems).

Qualifications:



Education:

Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field. (Equivalent extensive experience may be considered in lieu of a degree).

Experience:

[7-10]+ years of progressive experience in construction management, with a proven track record of successfully delivering diverse projects. Demonstrated experience managing projects in at least two of the following sectors: residential, commercial (especially retail/convenience), or agricultural. Extensive hands-on experience and knowledge of concrete, plumbing, and water line systems.

Technical Skills:

Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Procore, Primavera P6, Microsoft Project). Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and regulations. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical specifications. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook). Knowledge of local building codes and permitting processes.

Certifications (Preferred):

OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety Certification. PMP (Project Management Professional) certification.

Work Environment & Physical Demands:



This role involves a blend of office work and significant time spent on active construction sites. Ability to travel frequently to various project sites, potentially across a wide geographical area. Ability to navigate construction sites, which may include uneven terrain, ladders, and exposure to various weather conditions (heat, cold, dust, noise). Ability to lift and carry materials or equipment as needed. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required.
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,819.05 - $61,201.44 per year
