About Happy Start Learning Academy

Happy Start Learning Academy is a private Christian school serving grades K4-5th. Our mission is to nurture the whole child, academically, socially, and spiritually, in a supportive, faith-based environment. We are currently seeking caring and dependable Afterschool Tutors to join our team and support our students through structured afterschool learning and enrichment.

Position Overview

The Afterschool Tutor will provide academic support, homework help, and enrichment activities to students enrolled in our afterschool program. The ideal candidate is patient, engaging, and enjoys working with children in a structured learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

Provide one-on-one and small group tutoring in core subjects (reading, writing, math, etc.) Assist students with homework assignments and projects Maintain a safe, organized, and positive environment Monitor student behavior and ensure adherence to school policies Communicate effectively with staff and parents regarding student progress and behavior Participate in occasional staff meetings and program events

Qualifications

Minimum Education: Bachelor's Degree Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in a licensed childcare or educational facility Must be a certified teacher (state teaching certification required) Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to manage groups of children with patience and consistency Dependable, professional, and team-oriented attitude Commitment to the values and mission of Happy Start Learning Academy
