Children's Lighthouse is seeking a caring and responsible

After-School Teacher

to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with school-age children, supporting their academic and social growth, and ensuring a safe and engaging environment. This role also includes driving the

Children's Lighthouse mini bus

to transport students safely between school and the center.

Key Responsibilities:

Create and implement engaging lesson plans and enrichment activities that promote learning, creativity, and teamwork. Supervise and support children during homework time, recreational play, and group projects. Provide individualized attention to students with diverse learning needs. Maintain a safe, inclusive, and structured classroom environment. Drive the

Children's Lighthouse mini bus

to pick up and drop off students safely and on time, following all transportation policies. Conduct daily vehicle safety checks and maintain cleanliness of the bus. Communicate effectively with parents and staff about student behavior, attendance, and progress. Ensure compliance with state licensing and school safety regulations. Assist with organizing extracurricular activities and special events.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree

in Education, Child Development, or a related field. Minimum

2 years of experience

working with school-age children in a teaching or childcare setting. Must possess a

valid driver's license

and a

clean driving record

. Prior experience driving a

mini bus or passenger van

preferred. Knowledge of child development and classroom management best practices.

CPR and First Aid certification

(or willingness to obtain). Must meet all state training and background check requirements.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $13.00 - $15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 - 35 per week
