Job Description
The Incarnation Center's Nature's Playground is seeking enthusiastic and highly experienced individuals to join our team as Program Staff / Childcare Specialists. This role is essential for delivering our unique after-school program, which focuses on outdoor, experiential, and environmental education.
We are specifically looking for candidates with a proven background in childcare, ensuring the safety, well-being, and enrichment of children in grades K-6. If you have a passion for the outdoors and a commitment to nurturing young learners, we encourage you to apply.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise and Engage:
Provide direct, attentive, and experienced supervision for children (K-6) during after-school hours, half-days, and school vacation days.Lead Activities: Routinely offered enrichment activities include;
Arts and Crafts tables
STEAM challenges
Outdoor games or nature walks
Cooperative team-building activities
Homework help stations
Facilitate Enrichment:
Assist students with homework and provide positive academic support.Ensure Safety:
Maintain a safe and healthy environment at all times, adhering to all program and center safety protocols, especially during outdoor exploration and activities. Any activity that removes us from the activity center is considered a field trip and must retain a 1:6 rationModel Behavior:
Serve as a positive role model, fostering responsibility, respect, and a love for nature in all participants.Cleaning:
Assisting in daily cleaning. Sweeping the floor, cleaning bathrooms, etc.Program Schedule
School Days:
3:00 PM - 6:00 PMHalf Days:
1:00 PM - 6:00 PMVacation Days:
7:30 AM - 6:00 PM (Schedule varies based on program needs and Region 4 school calender)Qualifications
Experience (REQUIRED):
Documented and significant experience in professional childcare, after-school programming, outdoor education, or summer camp environments is essential.Communication Skills:
Excellent interpersonal skills with children, parents, and staff.Safety Certifications:
Current CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to obtain immediately upon hire (paid for by the center).Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 15 - 22 per week
Work Location: In person
