We are seeking an Inclusion Aide who will support students who benefit from a more individualized experience within our after-school program, typically those with an Individualized Education Plan (IEP), behavioral diagnosis, or other social-emotional needs. This role is designed to help these students participate successfully in activities and maintain positive engagement throughout the program day. Inclusion Aides work in close collaboration with Site Directors and program staff. They do not have their own group or ratio; instead, they float among specific students identified by the director, providing direct behavioral and social support as needed. The typical support ratio is up to one Inclusion Aide for five designated students, though this number may be fewer depending on student needs. Once the supported students go home, Inclusion Aides may either leave for the day or transition into an enrichment staff role to assist with general program needs. After their assigned students have left, Inclusion Aides may be included in staff ratios and can help with enrichment activities or breaks, but they do not have closing responsibilities since they do not have their own group.
Responsibilities
Provide individualized support to students identified by the site director as needing behavioral or social-emotional assistance.
Follow designated students throughout the day, helping them successfully engage in program activities and transitions.
Collaborate with program staff to reinforce positive behavior strategies and inclusion practices.
Maintain open communication with directors and staff regarding student progress, challenges, and support strategies.
Support a maximum of five assigned students, without removing those students from their assigned groups or teacher ratios.
After assigned students leave for the day, either leave early or assist in the program as an enrichment staff member (helping with activities, coverage, or breaks).
Provide personal care support, including toileting assistance, as required based on individual student needs and in accordance with program policies and hygiene procedures. (Higher end of pay rate)
Experience
Prior experience as an Inclusion Aide, Paraprofessional, and/or ABA Therapist.
Experience working in after-school childcare or similar educational settings.
Strong knowledge of behavior management strategies and foundational literacy principles.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with students, families, and team members.
Ability to work both collaboratively within a team environment and independently when supporting lesson implementation and daily activities.
Familiarity with early childhood curriculum development is preferred.
If you are passionate about making a difference in children's lives through education and possess the necessary skills, we encourage you to apply for this rewarding position.
