Summary:
Identification and assessing of gifted and talented students. Communicating and collaborating with classroom teachers and families to develop and update Advanced Learning Plan (ALP) goals.

Responsibilities:
Collaborate and coordinate with teachers in developing and updating Advanced Learning Plan (ALP) goals.
Maintain and update Advanced Learning Plans (ALP).
Communicate regularly with classroom teachers and families.
Organize and administer gifted and talented identification assessments.
Collect a body of evidence to be used in the gifted and talented identification process.
Coordinate enrichment activities as appropriate.
Promote understanding and respect for gifted education and gifted learners.
Serve as an advocate for students as appropriate.
Participate in staff meetings or professional development activities to increase understanding of gifted learners and gifted education.
Participate in conferences between families, administrators, teachers, counselors and students as appropriate.
Participate in district Gifted and Talented Advisor meetings and training.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Required:
High School diploma or equivalent, plus a minimum of two years college.
Communication (read, write, and speak) in English, must pass the English component of the interview process.
Completed and submitted BVSD online application.
Preferred:
Minimum two years college, Bachelor's Degree preferred.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with children.
Background in education/gifted education.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, school staff, and administrators.
Ability to plan, organize and see a project through to completion.
