The department holds a statewide vision for higher education in which New Mexicans have the ability to achieve the highest level of education they desire, are ensured a seamless educational experience from pre-school through college, can afford to attend one of New Mexico's fine institutions and will succeed once enrolled, and will be prepared to participate in New Mexico's high wage workforce.
The Adult Education Division at NMHED exists to support adults to strengthen their core academic skills and meet their personal, educational, and career goals. We offer adults a range of opportunities, and all of them are free!

Why does the job exist?
This position exists to ensure the integrity, coordination, and strategic utilization of adult education data across New Mexico. It supports NMHED's statutory role in administering high school equivalency testing and completion, while also fulfilling federal and state reporting requirements tied to adult education programs. Through data stewardship, collaborative leadership, and continuous learning, the role strengthens statewide systems that elevate educational access and outcomes for adult learners.
