Position Summary:


The Adoption Program Manager is responsible for the leadership, strategic planning, and daily operations of the organization's domestic and international adoption programs. This role ensures the highest standards of service delivery, compliance with all regulatory requirements, and the development of a comprehensive referral source network. The manager oversees all aspects of the adoption process, from intake to placement and post-adoption support, training and education services, pregnancy, parenting, and adoption counseling, fostering strong partnerships with families, agencies, and community organizations.

Job Duties:


Oversee the daily program operations including adoption search, home studies and required follow-up, compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and agency policies. Supervise, train, and support program staff and volunteers, fostering a collaborative and mission-driven team environment. Establish and maintain a robust network of referral sources, including social service agencies, healthcare providers, legal professionals, and community organizations. Develop, implement, and evaluate program strategies to achieve organizational goals and improve adoption outcomes. Serve as the primary point of contact for prospective adoptive families, guiding them through the application, screening, home study, and placement processes. Ensure adoption program is conducted in accordance with specified objectives, licensing with accrediting standards, government regulations, organizational policy, and services. Including but not limited to Training in Adoption Competency (TAC), Infant Adoption Training, and additional evidence-based models as needed. Design and deliver workshops, classes, or programs to meet the identified needs of groups. Monitor program performance, preparing regular reports for leadership and stakeholders. Develop and manage program budgets, contracts, and funding proposals as needed. Coordinate with partners, government agencies, and legal representatives to ensure ethical and efficient case management. Maintain accurate, confidential records and ensure data integrity across the program. Represent the organization at community events, conferences, and outreach activities to promote adoption services and build relationships. Other job-related duties as needed.

Required Skills/Abilities:


Independent judgment to identify, plan, implement, and/or change programs based on new opportunities or changes in the environment. In-depth knowledge of adoption processes, regulations, and best practices (local and international preferred). Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and support families, professionals, and community partners. Strong organizational skills with the capacity to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Ability to develop and sustain referral networks and community partnerships. Problem-solving skills and sound judgment in sensitive and complex situations. Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality. Awareness and sensitivity of the organization's constituents and the populations served. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. Education and Experience:


Master's degree in social work, counseling, or related human services field. Licensed Mental Health Practitioner (PLMHP/LMHP/LIMHP) and/or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (PLCSW/LCSW/LICSW) in the State of Nebraska. Minimum of three to five years of experience in adoption services, child welfare, or family services, with at least two years in a supervisory or program management role. Demonstrated understanding of and ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds.

Physical Requirements:


Work in an office setting with regular travel to partner agencies, events, and/or client homes. Company issued laptop and cell phone. Flexibility to work evenings or weekends as needed for program events or meetings. Occasional lifting of up to 20 pounds (e.g., program materials, equipment). Available to provide emergency services for clients as necessary. Includes "on-call" duties and/or participating in the on-call rotation.
