Job Summary


---------------



Recruit students and provide assistance and advice in relation to the admissions process. Visit schools or colleges to make presentations to groups and individuals.


There are 2 available positions.


Based on the recent Proclamation: Restriction on Entry of Certain Nonimmigrant Workers (H-1B), VSU will not be sponsoring any new H-1B visa petitions until further notice.


Responsibilities

Typical Allocation of Duties



Manage assigned territory - 30%



Manage an assigned recruitment territory.



Visit schools and colleges - 30%



Visit schools and colleges, speak to groups and individual students, and meet with school officials to develop partnerships between the university and other institutions.



Provide information to families and students - 15%



Provide information to students and families regarding educational opportunities and options, admission and other requirements, policies and procedures, transfer of credit, and financial assistance, as appropriate.



Conduct campus tours - 15%



Conduct campus tours and represents the Admissions Department during Orientation.



Marketing materials - 10%



Distribute a range of resource and promotional materials designed for the recruitment and retention of targeted groups.

Supervisor Expectations



Representing Valdosta State via a variety of events within the assigned territory, such as College Fairs, and High School visits. Due to the volume of events, there will be extensive travel within the territory, which includes extended hours and evening and weekend work during peak times. Managing the recruitment efforts within the primary and secondary markets of the assigned territory by reviewing the strategic recruitment goals of the admissions office, using historical data and information to determine a recruitment plan, and planning and executing recruitment events to maximize outreach and resources to successfully achieve recruitment goals. Be included in the in-house weekly rotation as the in-house counselor for the week. This will include campus tour presentations, meeting with prospective students and families as well as assist in day-to-day operations. Representing Valdosta State through on campus events such as Campus tours, Presentations, Open House, Accepted Student Day, as well as Blazer Beginnings Orientation. Extensively using technology (i.e., texting, email, phone calls) to maximize new student engagement from inquiry to enrollment. Compiling and analyzing data used in making informed decisions regarding targeted recruitment and outreach strategies and efforts for assigned territory.

Bachelor's degree and one (1) year of related work experience.

$20.35/hr.
