Summary

For a limited time MaineHealth is offering up to $10,000 Sign on bonus for all eligible experienced Registered Nurses with 2-3 years of experience and $20,000 for experienced Registered Nurses with greater than 3 years of experience!

  • Eligible candidates are hired (offer accepted) into a Full or Part time RN position. Bonus amount prorated for Part time hires, per diem hires are ineligible.
  • Current MaineHealth member employees are ineligible; former MaineHealth Members are ineligible until greater than 6 months separation from employment.
The Admissions Nurse is responsible for reviewing referral information for individuals presenting for admission to SHH. The Admission nurse initiates the Initial Assessment for new admits and provides nurse to nurse communication with the accepting unit. The Admissions Nurse will be provided clinical supervision by the Associate Chief Nursing Officer. Through a unique collaboration with Maine Medical Center, Spring Harbor Hospital is a rich training environment for many disciplines, including general residents, child and adolescent psychiatry fellows, nurses, nurse practitioners, occupational therapists, and social work interns. Spring Harbor Hospital strives to offer patients of all ages a comfortable and pleasant environment. The youth and adult units provide ample accommodations, including designated rooms for family meetings and individual consultations, and an indoor gym. In addition to our clinical care, other hospital departments include a pharmacy, and dietary services (cafeteria)

Psychiatric experience is preferred.

The hours for this position are 0700am to 0330pm.

Position Summary
  • The Admissions Nurse assesses the patients for the appropriate level of care or program required to meet the patients\' needs. The Admission Nurse provides patient care utilizing the nursing process in the delivery of psychiatric, mental health and behavioral health care. The Admissions Nurse will be provided clinical supervision by the Associate Chief Nursing Officer (ACNO).
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
  • Education: Bachelor\'s degree in Nursing or graduate of an accredited Nursing program required. RNC preferred.
  • License/Certifications: Licensed as a registered professional nurse by the Maine State Board of Nursing. ANA certification as an RN, C or CS desired.
  • Experience: 2+ year of psychiatric nursing or comparable experience preferred.
