Position Summary




The Admissions Director is responsible for managing and overseeing the entire admissions process for new residents, from initial inquiry to move-in. This role ensures smooth, professional, and compassionate communication with residents, families, hospitals, and referral sources. The Admissions Director also works closely with the marketing and clinical teams to meet census goals while ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.

Key Responsibilities



Oversee all aspects of the admissions process, including inquiries, referrals, tours, assessments, approvals, and resident placement. Serve as the primary contact for hospitals, physicians, case managers, and families regarding admissions and bed availability. Ensure timely and accurate completion of admission paperwork and insurance verification. Collaborate with the Administrator, Business Office, and clinical teams to ensure financial, medical, and social criteria are met for all admissions. Provide tours of the facility to prospective residents and families, highlighting programs, services, and amenities. Develop and maintain relationships with referral sources to ensure a consistent flow of appropriate admissions. Track admissions, discharges, denials, and occupancy trends; prepare regular reports for leadership. Coordinate with the Marketing/Hospital Liaison to support census growth. Monitor compliance with state, federal, and company regulations in all admissions activities. Handle sensitive resident and family issues with compassion, confidentiality, and professionalism.

Qualifications



Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Social Work, Nursing, Marketing, or related field preferred. Minimum 2 years of experience in admissions, marketing, or case management in a nursing home, long-term care, or healthcare setting. Strong knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance coverage. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and manage admissions efficiently. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
