Job Description

Position Purpose:





Coordinates activities related to admission of residents into the facility.




Essential Functions of Position:




Confers with appropriate medical and facility staff to coordinate and schedule admission of resident. Assigns accommodations for new admissions related to nursing care needs, resident and resident's families preference, availability or space, and other information. Enters bed assignment information. Prepares records of admission, transfer, and other required data. Notifies departments of resident's admission Maintains accurate financial records where appropriate. Keeps records of admissions and discharges, and compiles occupancy census data. Interviews resident or resident's representative to obtain necessary personal and financial data to determine eligibility for admission. Determines work procedures, to maintain sales efforts that secure positive referral flow to the facility's objectives. Issues written and oral instructions. Initial liaison with resident and families on facility services and issues. Prepares composite reports on market assessments that assist with market evaluation plus strategic planning. Adjusts errors and complaints. Participates in departmental budget planning and supplies monthly report to Administrator. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Education/Requirements:





High school diploma or equivalent plus a minimum of two (2) years experience in admissions and/or business office in a healthcare setting; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
